Growing up Netscape was my favorite browser, just because it was alternative to Microsoft Internet Explorer and had a cool design. Since Netscape decided to quit the race in 2007 many new browsers mushroomed the web. But one of them has become a game changer especially in disrupting Explorer's domination on the global market: Google Chrome.
According the March 2012 Statistics published by Stat Counter Chrome has now become the most popular web browser in Turkey surpassing Microsoft's Internet Explorer. Google Turkey Official Blog annpuced the news with joy citing "simplicity, security and Android apps" for Chorme's success in Turkish market.
Being the default browser in PC computers Microsoft IE has huge competitive advantage over other web browsers. Nonetheless Google's Chrome managed to lure Turkish PC users away from IE.
IE's domination continues to remain strong even though many users moving away to other alternatives such as Firefox, Safari, Opera & Chrome.
Overall it is safe to say that the tough competition on browsers between global technology giants will continue in the foreseeable future. Most certainly heavy web users will be the biggest beneficiaries from this competition.
